AP Clarification
Hockey Manitoba definition (pg 42):
"Purpose" To provide an opportunity for a higher division or category teams to dress the maximum number of players allowable for a game in accordance with playing rules.
When affiliated players are used in a game, such player shall be designated on the official game report by use of the use of the symbol "AP"
Pembina Valley definitions:
Article VII. Special Rules for Affiliation for Pembina Valley Minor Hockey Association
1. In league play, any player may move to a higher age category during season to make a team total of eleven (11) skaters for Novice and Atom, thirteen (13) for Pee Wee and seventeen (17) skaters for Bantam/Midget. Any player who plays as an affiliate (AP) for a higher category team for more than six (6) league games, shall be ineligible for further competition with the lower division team in League or League play-offs. This is appeal able to the convener/executive.
For teams with only one goaltender, they may dress an affiliate goalie even though the total number of players is twelve (12) for Novice and Atom, fourteen (14) for Pee Wee and follow the Hockey Manitoba rules as outlined in the Hockey Manitoba handbook for Bantam and Midget.
2. To be eligible to play with their rostered team in the P.V.M.H.A. playoffs, a player has to participate in at least 50% of league games with the team they are rostered on.

Q: How many league games may a player participate in, on there none rostered team ?
A: A player may play a maximum of 5 league games on the none rostered team, on the sixth game they become ineligible to play on there originally rostered team and must remain with there new team for the remainder of league and league play offs.
Q: Can a player AP from example: Atom Gold to Pee Wee Bronze ?
A: Yes, for a maximum of 5 games. They may AP to any team that is;
1- higher category i.e. Atom Silver to Atom Gold
2- to a higher age group example: Novice Gold to Atom Bronze
Q: Do tournaments or exhibition games count as games played as an AP ?
A: No, only PV league games and PV league play offs.
Q: If a player is a Goalie does the AP rule apply to them?
A: Yes, unless your association president has requested an exception due to the team they are AP'ing to, has only 1 rostered goalie .
Q: Can a player AP to 2 different teams at a higher level, Example Novice gold to Atom Bronze and Atom Silver.
A: Yes, however the total games may not exceed 5 games or the player will remain with the last team they appeared as an AP on the game sheet.
Q: Are there other exceptions ?
A: Yes, under certain circumstances an association's president (not a team) may apply to the PV executive for;
1- A roster less than 10 players to use designated AP's for more than 5 games
2- Teams with only 1 rostered goalie
3- Other qualified circumstances reviewed by the PV executive on an individual basis.
